Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: What services do you offer?

A: I specialize in lymphatic massage (including post-operative care and Prenatal), manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), lymphedema management, therapeutic bodywork to support detoxification, pain relief, and whole-body wellness, as well as education on self-care techniques to help you maintain your flow between sessions.

Q: What makes your lymphatic and massage sessions unique?

A: I combine clinical training with intuitive touch and deep knowledge of the lymphatic system to create results-driven, soul-nourishing sessions. Each treatment is customized using a combination of techniques—whether you're recovering from surgery, managing lymphedema, or simply need to reset. I use high-quality, curated products and take a holistic approach to your body's healing process.

Q: Do you accept insurance or HSA/FSA cards?

A: I don’t accept insurance, but I do accept HSA and FSA cards for qualifying services. You’ll just want to confirm with your provider that massage or lymphatic care is covered under your plan.

Q: Do you offer packages or memberships?

A: Yes, I offer several multi-session packages for post-op, lymphatic, and wellness clients. These are great for consistency and saving over time. Because I have several options based on your needs, I recommend checking my booking site for current package pricing and descriptions. https://app.acuityscheduling.com/catalog/227d8592

Post-Op Lymphatic

Q: What’s included in your post-op sessions?

A: Each session includes:

  • Gentle manual lymphatic drainage

  • Kinesiology taping (as appropriate)

  • Arnica cream

  • All materials (gloves, table pads, wraps, etc.)

I may also incorporate wood therapy and a custom lymphatic oil blend, depending on your needs that day. These tools are part of your care and are not added fees. If you’re experiencing signs of fibrosis, I’ll refer you to a trusted specialist in the area who focuses specifically on that.

Q: How often should I get post-op lymphatic massage?

A: For the best results:

  • Week 1: daily sessions for 5 to 7 days post-surgery (as soon as you’re cleared to begin)

  • Weeks 2–3: 2 to 3 sessions per week

  • Week 4 and beyond: tapering to weekly or biweekly sessions for ongoing drainage, mobility, and comfort

The more procedures you’ve had, the more sessions your body will likely need. For example, someone recovering from 360 lipo, BBL, and additional areas may need 20 to 30 sessions for full recovery. At minimum, I recommend planning for at least 10.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

Q: What types of massage do you offer outside of lymphatic and post-op?

A: I offer deeply therapeutic bodywork focused on relaxation, circulation, pain relief, and nervous system support. Whether you’re dealing with stress, tension, or just need to reconnect with your body, these sessions are customized to what your system needs that day.

Q: Is this deep tissue or Swedish massage?

A: My work isn’t confined to a single style. I use a blend of therapeutic techniques based on what your body can tolerate and what you prefer. That may include Swedish-inspired flow, static pressure for trigger point release, and calming nervous system support. I do not perform deep fascia work (myofascial release) or lymphatic drainage during these sessions.

Q: How do I prepare for a therapeutic massage?

A: Come as you are. Hydrate, wear loose clothes, and give yourself time to settle in and unwind. You don’t need to stretch or prep beforehand.

Q: What should I expect during the session?

A: You’ll be comfortably draped at all times and we’ll start with a brief check-in to focus your session. I may incorporate intentional silence, soft music, breath cues, or grounding touch—depending on what your body needs. My goal is to create a safe, supportive experience that meets you where you are.

Q: What enhancements are available?

A: For therapeutic massage clients, I offer, as an add-on option:

  • Aromatherapy using curated essential oil blends

  • Targeted or full body hot stone work

Q: How often should I book therapeutic massage?

A: Consistency matters. Monthly sessions are great for general maintenance and nervous system regulation. If you're navigating high stress, anxiety, or burnout, weekly or biweekly sessions can help your body recalibrate.

If you’re also dealing with chronic pain or long-standing tension patterns, more frequent sessions may be necessary at first to create lasting change. We can build a treatment rhythm that works for your body and your lifestyle.

BOOKING & POLICIES

Q: How do I book a session?

A: All appointments must be booked online through my scheduling site. You’ll see available times, pricing, and package options there. https://relaxanddrain.com/services

Q: Can I book by text or DM?

A: No, to keep things organized and fair for all clients, I don’t book through text or social media. Please use the online system to view availability and secure your session.

Q: Do I need to book in advance?

A: Advance booking is highly recommended—especially if you’re post-op or need a specific day/time. I often book up 1–2 weeks ahead.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy?

A: I require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee. Please respect my time and other clients who could have booked your spot.

Q: What if I’m running late?

A: Life happens! If you're late, your session time will be shortened to respect the next client. If you’re more than 30 minutes late with or without notice, the session may be canceled and charged as a no-show.

Q: Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

A: Yes, you’re welcome to bring someone with you. I have one chair in the room for guests, and there's also a waiting area available.

If you bring a child, please know they must remain in the treatment room with you at all times and be able to sit quietly without disrupting the session. I don’t allow children to wait alone in the lobby for safety and liability reasons.

Q: Should I come early to my appointment?

A: You're welcome to arrive 5–10 minutes early. I build a 30-minute buffer between sessions, so I can usually take you a bit early if I'm ready. Just know that if I'm still resetting the space or on break, I may need that full time before I bring you in.

If we’ve previously discussed a different plan (like an extended session or back-to-back treatments), I’ll make sure we’re aligned ahead of time.

PAYMENT, TIPS & RESCHEDULING

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: I accept cash, all major credit/debit cards, Zelle, Apple Pay, and tap-to-pay options. Payment is due at the time of service, or you may prepay when booking.

Q: Can I use my HSA or FSA?

A: Yes! If your plan covers massage therapy or post-operative care, you can use your HSA/FSA card at checkout. Be sure to confirm coverage with your provider. I can provide a detailed receipt, if needed.

Q: Are tips expected?

A: Tips are always appreciated but never expected. Your presence, referrals, Google reviews, and trust in my care mean just as much. If you’d like to leave a gratuity, it can be added at checkout or given in cash/zelle.

Q: Do you offer packages or discounts?

A: Yes, I offer a variety of packages to support your wellness or post-op journey. You'll find all package pricing, policies, and expiration details listed on the booking page for easy reference. https://app.acuityscheduling.com/catalog/227d8592

Q: Can I reschedule my appointment?

A: Yes—rescheduling is easy through the online booking system as long as it’s more than 24 hours before your session.

If it’s within 24 hours, you’ll need to text or call me directly. Just keep in mind that late changes may still be subject to the cancellation policy depending on the circumstances.

Q: What if I cancel late or don’t show up?

A: Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, late arrivals, or no-shows will be charged the full session rate. This policy helps me respect my time and clients on the waitlist.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR SESSION

Q: What sensations or symptoms might I experience after a lymphatic drainag

A: It’s common to feel:

  • Light fatigue or mild tiredness as your body processes the increased lymphatic flow

  • Increased urination due to enhanced fluid movement

  • Temporary mild swelling or tingling in treated areas

  • Some soreness or tenderness similar to post-workout muscle feelings

  • Emotional release or a sense of relaxation

These effects usually resolve within 24 hours. If you experience severe pain, redness, or fever, please contact your healthcare provider immediately.

Q: What sensations might I notice after a therapeutic massage?

A: You may experience:

  • Relaxation and reduced muscle tension

  • Mild soreness or tenderness, especially if trigger points were addressed

  • Improved mobility and range of motion

  • Enhanced mood and decreased stress

Drinking plenty of water post-session is encouraged to help flush out the waste and support recovery.

Q: How should I care for myself after a session?

A: For both lymphatic and massage sessions:

  • Stay well hydrated—drink lots of water

  • Avoid heavy exercise or strenuous activity for 24 hours

  • Rest and allow your body to integrate the work done

  • Use gentle movement like walking or stretching to support circulation

  • Follow any specific post-op care instructions provided during your session

Q: When can I schedule my next session?

A: Follow the recommended frequency discussed during your appointment based on your goals and healing needs. Consistency supports the best long-term results.
